Fyodor Drizen

Baron Fyodor Vasilyevich Drizen was a Russian commanding officer. Drizen was born to a family of Russian nobles, of German descent, initially named Osten-Drizen. The Osten-Drizen family was known, in noble circles, as fon-der-Osten-Drizen, having originally been von der Osten-Driesen. During the Patriotic War of 1812, he served in the Third Infantry Corps, under LG Nikolay Tuchkov I, in the First Brigade of the Third Division. Serving directly under MG Alexander Tuchkov IV, he became an officer and achieved the rank of Colonel, also serving as a regimental chief. At The Battle of Borodino, Drizen was wounded and replaced by Major Andrey von Fitinhoff, who would later be replaced by Lieutenant Grigory Shkarin II. Drizen fought at The Battle of Borodino alongside his relation, Colonel Baron Yegor Drizen I, who was also replaced for medical reasons. Through his life, Drizen was also known by the Germanized name, Friedrich Wilhelm.
